This brand new Sportex competition 4 branch tubular manifold (2.25" stub) is designed to fit Ford Escort mk1 mk2 built 1968-1981 fitted with 1.6 or 2.0 SOHC Pinto engines. This includes RS2000 and mk2 Mexico. This 4 branch manifold works with no servo fitted and engine World Cup X member and is desinged to fit to the Sportex 2.25" exhaust system.
The Sportex tubular 4 branch exhaust manifold is engineered to deliver enhanced power and torque. This is achieved using tuned pipe lengths that allow for a free-flowing exhaust path, significantly reducing restrictions in comparison to standard exhaust systems. As a result, exhaust gases can exit the engine more efficiently, leading to noticeable gains in power output.
This manifold serves as a direct replacement for the vehicle’s original downpipe and cast manifold. Sportex constructs all exhaust manifolds using high-quality aluminised steel for both the pipework and flanges, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion.
The tubular design is characterised by a dedicated pipe for each cylinder exhaust port. This arrangement eliminates interference between the cylinders, thereby maximising potential power gains. The tuning of exhaust manifolds is accomplished by adjusting pipe lengths and angles, which enables the development of different engine power and torque characteristics.
Sportex invests significant time in the development and testing of each manifold design to ensure optimal performance for each specific application. Each component is CNC-manipulated, and, wherever possible, a single continuous tube is used. This approach minimises the need for multiple angled welds, thereby reducing the likelihood of premature weld failures.
For best results and maximum power gains, it is recommended to install this manifold in conjunction with a complete performance exhaust system and an induction kit.
