Installation Instructions
Important Notice
This guide is intended for reference purposes only. We highly recommend that installation be carried out by a qualified professional at an authorised garage, as incorrect installation could negatively impact exhaust performance and may void your warranty. Please exercise caution throughout all steps of the process.
Removal of Original Exhaust
- Begin at the rear of the vehicle. Disconnect the back box from the existing exhaust system.
- Remove the original exhaust from the rubber supports.
Preparation for Installation
- Retain all clamps, bolts, nuts, and rubber supports for reuse when fitting the Sportex Exhaust. If any of these components are no longer suitable, replace them as necessary.
Fitting the Sportex Exhaust
- Install the Sportex Exhaust by following the removal steps in reverse order.
- Mount the exhaust on the rubber supports and attach the inlet pipe to the exhaust system, but do not fully tighten the connections yet.
- Align the exhaust so that the tailpipe sits level. Check bodywork for clearance. Once properly positioned, tighten all connections securely.
Checks and Adjustments
- Start the engine and inspect the system thoroughly for any leaks.
- Ensure that all parts are operating correctly and that there is sufficient clearance around components, both when cold and during operation.
- After 250 miles (approximately 400 kilometres), inspect all fixing points for tightness and adjust or re-tighten as necessary.
Maintenance of Stainless Steel Tailpipes
To maintain the appearance of the stainless steel tailpipes, clean them regularly. It is particularly important to remove road salt as soon as possible by rinsing with water.
